It stands out as being bilingual and governed by an administrator appointed by the Members of Cabinet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Firmly anchored from Kegaska to Blanc-Sablon, including Port-Menier (Anticosti Island), our activities take place in 9 English-speaking communities and 4 French-speaking communities in the MRC du Golfe-du-Saint-Laurent and the MRC de la Minganie (Anticosti Island). These communities, with populations ranging from 100 to 1,000 inhabitants, cover an area of 460 kilometers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the Centre de services scolaire du Littoral, we offer educational services in general education at preschool, primary and secondary levels, in addition to literacy and general adult education services. We also offer vocational training programs through agreements with other school service centres or school boards. Our school clientele includes approximately 370 students and our team is made up of around 200 employees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"mission\">Our mission<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\">The mission of the Centre de services scolaire du Littoral is to establish educational institutions in its territory, to support those institutions and to accompany them by procuring access to the goods and services and offering the optimal conditions enabling them to provide students with quality educational services and see to their educational success, so that the population may attain a higher level of knowledge, social development and qualification. (<em>Education Act<\/em>, section 207.1)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer space-sm\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"vision\">Our vision<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Committed to developing everyone&#8217;s full potential together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer space-sm\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"valeurs\">Our values<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Engagement<\/strong>: Centered on a shared vision, engagement involves dedication and effort towards personal development and progress.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Collaboration<\/strong>: Collaboration is being open to sharing and working together to develop our full potential.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Innovation<\/strong>: Innovation means adapting to the particularities of our environment with kindness and creativity.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer space-sm\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"histoire\">History<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On April 14, 1967, the National Assembly of the Province of Qu\u00e9bec sanctioned Bill 41, instituting the Commission scolaire de la C\u00f4te-Nord du golfe Saint-Laurent. This school board, directed by an administrator, would become responsible for education in 15 communities. These communities spread out from Kegaska to Blanc-Sablon, a territory of 460 kilometres (285 miles) that is not connected to the Qu\u00e9bec Provincial road network. Bill 41 created the first &#8220;unified&#8221; school board in the Province of Qu\u00e9bec, serving a French, English, and Aboriginal population of Catholic and Protestant religions and giving courses from Kindergarten to Secondary inclusively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On June 18, 1975, the name of the Commission scolaire de la C\u00f4te-Nord du golfe Saint-Laurent was changed by order in council for the Commission scolaire du Littoral.<sup> <\/sup>Prior to the creation of the district, multiple school districts from various religious orders controlled the area, and none of them offered senior high school education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The territory of Anticosti Island was added to the Commission scolaire du Littoral with Bill 48 which was passed on June 18, 1976.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Following inter-governmental agreements, the Aboriginals of Pakua Shipi acquired their school autonomy on July 1, 1990, and those of Unamen Shipu on July 1, 1991. However, the school board maintained services in these two communities so as to serve the non-aboriginal population.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Moreover, the Commission scolaire du Littoral is characterized by the fact that it is not classified as a linguistic school board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Finally, the name Littoral School Board was changed on June 15, 2020 to Centre de services scolaire du Littoral.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<a href=\"https:\/\/demo-cssdulittoral.devkz411.com\/en\/schools-centers\/\" target=\"_self\" class=\"btn colour align-left btn-block\">\n    Consult the list of schools<\/a><\/div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A School Service Centre &#8220;Like No Other&#8221; Founded in 1967, the Centre de services scolaire du Littoral (CSSL) enjoys a unique geographical location.
