2018-2019 | From one island to another
Mini-marathon (1, 3 or 5 km) to run together with the community; to each their own challenge!
Students, parents and school staff gathered at the school for a Christmas brunch with a sugar shack theme.
After reading the album “L’étoile de Léa”, in which the character has leukaemia, the students decided to organise a walk to raise money for LEUCAN.
As part of the French course, the students created book boxes, models illustrating a book of their choice.
Fundraising dinner organised to finance our language exchange trip with Harrington Harbour.
Stilts, diabolo, balance and juggling: the circus invites itself to Anticosti! A show presented to parents and community members!
We organised a language exchange with Harrington Harbour; an exchange from one island to another! During our visit, in winter, we practiced speaking English during the rally, the Olympics, ice fishing… Great meetings and activities!
For the next part of our language exchange, it was Harrington Harbour who improved their French by visiting Anticosti! Activities on the beach, mini-marathon, visit of the Vauréal waterfall… Memorable moments with our new friends!
2019-2020 | Sow reading, reap culture
Our theme for the year: “Sow Reading, Reap Culture!” For every book read, a seed is sown, and the plants will be distributed to the community at the end of the year.
Construction of a thermos cart to deliver hot soup to the population as part of the OSEntreprendre Challenge.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we organised our end-of-year activity outside the school walls: a vernissage to unveil several works of art created by the students.
As part of her integration project, Leydi-Paola undertook to renovate the school’s kitchen and set up a quiet corner: the Truffe & Pantoufle Café.
2020-2021 | Diversity makes us unique
This year, the school offered guitar classes and provided extra lessons in extracurricular activities. After plenty of practice and perseverance, the young people put on several performances!
Throughout the year, the students developed their cooking skills thanks to the Culinary Brigades of the Tablée des Chefs. A valuable learning experience, and a real treat for the taste buds!
Learning differently means, in particular, using math and science classes to build planters for the community garden.
The pandemic prevents travel, but no matter, we continue our language exchange with La Tabatière… virtually! Long live technology!
Using sled shovels, shovels, snowshoes (and a bit of a snow blower), the students built a quinzhee in which they then slept!
2021-2022 | Under the Spotlight
As part of the OSEntreprendre Challenge, the school organized a 5-to-7 Corn Roast to raise funds for an exchange trip to Tête-à-la-Baleine and La Tabatière.

The students made machine-sewn mobiles, Finnish skittles games, and fresh pasta served with their jar of spaghetti sauce.
For the second part of the OSEntreprendre Challenge, the students were responsible for organizing, hosting, and serving the traditional community Christmas dinner in Port-Menier.
Educational Project
The school’s Educational Project (EP) defines our orientations and objectives for improving the educational success of our students. It represents the values of our school through which we accomplish our mission to educate, socialize and qualify. It is a strategic tool for communicating action priorities and expected results to the educational community.
It is developed in response to the characteristics and needs of the students attending the school, as well as the expectations of the educational environment.
The EP calls on the collaboration of all those involved in the school: students, parents, the community and the school service centre staff. It is part of an approach designed to promote coherence and synergy between all levels of the educational system, while respecting the autonomy and specific characteristics of each level.
Governing board
What is a governing board?
The Governing Board is a structure composed of people (parents, staff, students, etc.) who wish to be involved at the educational level. In the context of the Quebec education reform, a governing board is established in each school.
Its functions and powers are designed to bring schools and centers together with the expertise of people who are actively involved in education. The decision-making process of a Governing Board must always take into account the best interests of the students.
